Malaria
• The completion of 350 ”model” homes upgraded to a health standard appropriate for the reduction of Malaria and other diseases
• Hand out of 1500 Mosquito nets to families who have met the “model” home standard
Water
• The installation of 9 bore holes in rural communities in 2009/2010
• The installation of Rainwater Harvesting system at the Sekamuli Health Centre
Training
• Appointment of 3 trained field workers and 60 trained Community Health Workers to educate and monitor the communities in 7 villages
Medical
• The equipping of the Laboratory with a Solar energy providing lighting for a 24 hour service and a powered refrigerator for storing vaccines thus enabling outreach.
• A rainwater harvesting system providing water to the clinic all year round’
• Essential clinical equipment including beds, examination and delivery couches, stretcher, screen and storage furniture for drugs and basic first aid materials.
Education
• The construction of a science laboratory at Sekamuli School enabling students to take their practical exams there for “O” levels.
• Construction of a new two classroom block enabling students to sit for “A” level exams, thus raising the educational level of the school.
• Construction of toilet facilities at Mputte Primary School
Agriculture (Income Generation)
These projects are only for village or parish wide groups and the aim is not only to encourage income generation but also cooperation between families.
• The commencement of 2 Pig breeding programmes for widows and the elderly
• A co-operative coffee growing project
• A co-operative fruit tree project (Pasion fruit, Hass avocados and mangoes.
