Clinic

The Sekamuli Clinic is a Government run Health Centre II.  This means that it provides basic treatment for a community of over 10,000 people.  Until 2008 the clinic operated only during daylight hours, had no electricity or water. Patients had to travel many kilometres to find medical help.  The Healthy Vine installed rain water catchment for water provision. Solar power was also installed to keep the health centre open and enable storage of vaccines. It has equipped the clinic with basic needs for Obstetrics and immunisation days.   Staffing has been increased to cope with demand and the Healthy Vine has been lobbying for a maternity wing and a laboratory in order to decrease infant and maternal mortality.
