Pigs, pigs glorious pigs. Yes, the Wabiyinja sows have produced a litter of piglets each. One producing 10 piglets, the other 6 piglets. The piglets were born on Monday evening 10th October. They all seem to be doing well however we will have to tag them to avoid them being swapped with nearby piglets born around the same time. This apparently is common in the community so one has to be vigilant. This pig project was sponsored by Zolder 50 in Amsterdam. Unfortunately we learned that the other two sows in Wantula had not been served when we brought the boar to them so this has to be done again when the sows are on heat.

Nearly 3 weeks old now, the piglets have now been marked and tagged and are still getting accustomed to their new adornment. Hopefully this will deter “pignappers”.
