The work at the Maternity Wing of the Sekamuli Health Centre is progressing but very slowly. The new contractors did a great job in rebuilding it however the services like running water, sinks and electricity to the building still seems to be taking a long time to be installed. There was also no lavatory nor bathroom within the building. These seemed to have been overlooked in the planning stage by the engineer. The Chief Administrator Officer came to visit the clinic and noted the items that were still not in place. The Healthy Vine Trust will furnish the building when it is completed and is hoping that this will be sooner rather than later as it goes hand in hand not only with the training the CHWs received but also in contributing to the reduction of maternal and neonatal deaths in Uganda which according to UNICEF, is one of the highest in the world.
