Training, Capacity building and Ownership

Sustainability can only be achieved if the community owns, operates and manages the programme. The community must understand it, recognize who the beneficiaries are and undertake it. Trained members of the community share their time and knowledge to teach and encourage their neighbours to live healthily and responsibly. The training and monitoring adopts the Three Stones Approach designed to accommodate the different pace of learning, local knowledge and ability. Monitoring is ongoing and help is given to families to solve any issues that may be preventing them adopting the programme.
