- The Ugandan team (Salaried & Volunteers) comprises 4 European members: 2 permanent volunteers from the North West Archdeaconry and 2 temporary volunteers from Cork Ireland and 6 Ugandans. Only the Ugandans receive a salary or an allowance.
The Team has been strengthened by three additional Ugandans: A Programme coordinator, a Programme Development Officer and a new Field Worker. Part of the success of our programme is that all concerned with the programme are constantly within the rural community of Sekamuli. Our field workers both live and work in Sekamuli and unfortunately we have found to date that this requirement is particularly difficult for female graduate community field workers.
- The Cork friends of Luweero in Ireland are a team of volunteers who support both practically and financially the Healthy Vine by fundraising, and short term field visits to the programme in Uganda. Their presence and activities have made a significant impact on the community. They began to form early in 2008 when the idea of visiting Sekamuli in Luweero District was formed. To date two visits have been made – the first in 2008 and the second in 2010. More are planned.
- The Benelux team is based in The Netherlands and comprises of volunteers inspired by The Healthy Vine. Most are in employment and give some of their spare time to supporting the programme.

The Cork Friends of Luweero
The Cork Friends of Luweero support The Healthy Vine Trust (Uganda) in its work in the parish. Those visiting cover their own costs during the visit and they actively participate in fundraising before and after the visit. Most are active members in various congregations in West Cork but they gain considerable support from the communities that they are in.

During the visit they all are “hands on” and so far have undertaken building work or been busy in the community. The main focus of their fundraising to date has been the Sekamuli Health Centre and Sekamuli Secondary School.
The Health Centre has, during their support, been transformed from a barely functioning unit to a unit which now has a catchment area outside the parish. The Luweero Health Department has responded by increasing the number and calibre of staffing and by the end of 2010, the Health Centre should be seeing it’s new maternity wing and laboratory well under way.
The Secondary School has also seen a transformation and thanks to the 2010 visit now has a new two classroom block which forms another milestone in the progress of the school.
